Michael Bublé pulls out of hosting BRITs to care for son

The singer announced his son was battling cancer in November 2016

Michael Bublé has pulled out of hosting this year’s BRITs awards to care for his son.

It was announced in November 2016 that Noah Bublé was diagnosed with cancer with the musician confirming the news on his wife’s Facebook.

The production team behind the awards held their first planning meeting ahead of the ceremony on February 22 and were told they need to find a new host.

“It was a difficult call but Michael has decided to pull out of hosting the Brit Awards,” a source said.

Fortunately, doctors have given Noah a 90% survival rating and the 3-year-old was able to spend Christmas with his family.

“Out of respect for Michael the producers gave him as much time as he needed to make the decision, which they completely understood,” the source told The Sun.

“He would have put a unique stamp on the night so it’s a real shame, but at the moment his priority is his family.

“They are exploring other options now about who will take his place and a number of people have thrown their hat in the ring

The awards will take place in London’s O2 Arena and some of the world’s top artists are nominated for awards including posthumous nominations for David Bowie and Leonard Cohen.
