Mel B’s former nanny, Russell Updegraff, has spoken out about his alcohol and drug abuse testimony.
Russell told the judge, at Mel and her ex-husband’s custody trial, that the singer had an alcohol and drug abuse problem.
His statement resulted in the judge ordering the 43-year-old to complete random drug and alcohol tests for four months.
“Mel would drink so much at the house and pass out that if there was an emergency I dread to think what would happen,” the 59-year-old stated.
“I am not doing this for fame, and I didn’t have to do this, but I love those children and want the best for them,” he continued.
Mel has hit out at her former nanny since the deposition and claimed that he is fame-hungry.
Russell stated: “She is so pissed off at me and has told friends I embezzled money from her, but the judge took my deposition seriously – and that is a start for her recovery.”
