Meghan Markle’s half-sister accuses her of abandoning their bankrupt father

The former actress' estranged sister has slammed her in a scathing interview

Meghan Markle’s estranged half-sister Samantha has accused her of abandoning their bankrupt father, Thomas Markle.

In a scathing interview with A Current Affair, Meghan’s sister, who suffers from multiple sclerosis and is confined to a wheelchair, claimed the former actress isn’t doing enough to help their father, who declared bankruptcy in 2016, and now lives in Mexico.

Samantha sat down for the interview ahead of Meghan’s royal wedding to Prince Harry at Windsor Castle on May 19.

During the interview, Samantha said on behalf of their dad, she contacted Meghan seeking financial assistance, but she was left disappointed.

“Honestly, what she could spend in a weekend would greatly help dad, so that should be a priority,” Samantha said. “I think you need to step up to the plate and make sure he is well taken care of.”

Her sister also took a pop at the designer dress Meghan wore in her official engagement photos with Prince Harry.

“If you can afford $75,000 for a dress, you can afford $75,000 to help your dad. That’s how I feel, that’s who I am,” she said.

When asked if she was actively trying to “hurt” or “slam” Meghan, she said, “I have a right to speak and I have right to help people understand the way things are.”

Meghan’s father, Thomas, already had two children, Samantha and Thomas Jnr, when he married Doria, Meghan’s mother. Thomas and Doria have since split.
