Meghan Markle’s agent and friend has revealed details of her romance with the royal including the nickname she gave him just weeks into their relationship.
Gina Nelthorpe-Cowne has told the Daily Mail all about her relationship right from the beginning when the former Suits actress was excited about her first date with Prince Harry and her agent’s first thoughts were, “There’s no way he’s going to be able to resist her.”
With just over a month to go to their royal wedding it looks like she was right about “Haz” (Meghan’s nickname for Harry).
“After the date, she was telling me what a great guy he was, a real gentleman, genuinely nice, and when I asked if she would see him again she said: ‘Well, it looks like it.'”
She tells how a holiday to Botswana only weeks in to the blossoming relationship sealed the deal between the actress and the prince who she bonded with over a love of conservation and wildlife.
“I knew that would do it for them – Africa has that effect. When they were back, she showed me the most wonderful photographs of the two of them on her phone.”
“They were so clearly already in love. She told me it was serious and they had started discussing the future.”
Gina recalls how even when she met her for the first time back in 2014 Meghan was planning a life after her stint in Suits.
“She was interested in humanitarian and philanthropic causes – and in animal rights issues, too, but her main focus was and I believe still is women’s rights.”
“She wanted to be recognised as a humanitarian.”
The pair’s working relationship came together when the bride-to-be reached out to her to be involved in a conference, One Young World, which Gina was planning.
“She wanted to develop her own causes and the youth summits were perfect for her. Soon after the conference, I asked if she’d like to do more events and she said ‘Yes!’, so we signed a contract to represent her and I became her agent.”

Gina kept the relationship so private that she didn’t even tell her husband, “I’ve been running my business side-by-side with my husband for 20 years and we’ve been married for 30, but I didn’t even tell him.”
The relationship with her royal soon-to-be husband has meant the end of her acting career and hence the end of her contract with Gina.
Meghan is just back from her last trip to LA to see her mum before the wedding on may 19th.
