Meghan Markle has confirmed that her father, Thomas Markle Snr, will not attend her wedding to Prince Harry on Saturday.
In a statement released via Kensington Palace, the former actress asked that her father be given “space” during this time.
“Sadly my father will not be attending the wedding, I have always cared for my father and hope he can be given the space he needs to focus on his health,” Meghan said.
“I would like to thank everyone who has offered generous messages of support. Please know how much Harry and I look forward to sharing our special day with you on Saturday.”

The news comes after Thomas Snr underwent heart surgery, after he suffered a heart attack last week.
Meghan’s dad has been caught up in a media storm ever since it was revealed that he had staged fake paparazzi photos in the run up to the wedding.Â
Thomas initially said that he would not attend Meghan’s wedding to avoid embarrassing his daughter, however, he later revealed that he couldn’t attend due to his health issues.Â
