The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have attended their first public engagement as a married couple

Meghan Markle has made her first public appearance since becoming the Duchess of Sussex.

The Duke and Duchess celebrated Prince Charle’s 70th birthday at a garden party held at Buckingham Palace.

This was the couple’s first public engagement as a newly married couple.

Harry and Meghan enjoyed a brief getaway before returning to start their official duties.

Meghan, now a member of the Royal family, will now be addressed as Her Royal Highness, with members of the public having to curtsy when meeting her.

The Duchess looked beautiful in rose-hued dress, which she accessorised with a matching bag and a Philip Treacy hat.

6,000 people attended the garden party this afternoon in Buckingham Palace, these guests were mainly made up of charities and military associations connected to Prince Charles. He was hailed at the event for his lifetime of work dedicated to the charity sector.

Prince William was not in attendance at the even, as he is currently in Manchester for the 1st year anniversary of the Manchester terror attack, while Kate is still on maternity leave.
