Meghan Markle visited her new patronage, the animal charity Mayhew, on Wednesday – where she met with staff, volunteers and beneficiaries.
The Duchess of Sussex, who is six months pregnant, was greeting people at the shelter when one woman exclaimed, “You’re a fat lady!” while pointing at Meghan’s growing baby bump.
The Daily Telegraph’s royal correspondent Hannah Furness shared a video of their interaction on Twitter, including Meghan’s hilarious reaction to the woman’s comment.
The mum-to-be let out a big laugh, and simply replied, “I’ll take it!”
Do my ears deceive me? Quite possibly the first time the Duchess of Sussex has been called a “fat lady” and loved it pic.twitter.com/xR2NelQyAW

As always, Meghan looked stunning in an affordable knit dress by H&M, which she paired with an Emporio Armani cream cashmere coat, and a Falabella tote by Stella McCartney.
Meghan’s new patronage is very close to her heart, as she previously adopted two rescue pups when she lived in Toronto.
During her visit, the Duchess was filmed getting up close and personal with rescue dogs, and she particularly loved a little Jack Russell named Minnie.
