Megan McKenna has revealed how she’s been coping, following the death of her ex-boyfriend Mike Thalassitis.

The Love Island star sadly took his own life in March, and many were left devastated by his death.

In her first interview since Mike’s passing, the 26-year-old said writing music has been her “therapy” during an appearance on Loose Women this afternoon.

When Ruth Langsford asked how Megan was doing, she said: “I’ve been doing OK.”

“I’ve actually just come back from Nashville I’ve been putting everything into my work, I feel like Nashville is my happy place and I’m feeling good.

She continued: “Writing music is like therapy because it is like everything writing down in a diary, it’s a good way of getting my emotions down on paper.”

Earlier this month, Megan missed Mike’s funeral in London, after she jetted to Nashville to record new music.

While Megan is best known for her stints on reality shows like Ex On The Beach, Celebrity Big Brother and TOWIE, she has always dreamed of becoming a full-time singer.

She said: “That is what I’ve wanted, I love doing TV but this is my dream. I don’t regret anything, with country you’ve got to have a story, every TV show I’ve tried to sing on it as much as I can.”

“It’s massive in America, especially in Nashville – there’s so much talent that nobody knows about, I performed at the Bluebird Cafe and I was honoured that they invited me back.”
