Megan Barton-Hanson has opened up about her experiences with body shaming, after photos of her before her cosmetic enhancements hit the headlines while she was in the Love Island villa in 2018.
Speaking to Kathy Burke on the Channel 4 documentary All Woman, Megan detailed how she faced trolling and death threats over her appearance.
The model has had fillers, a breast augmentation, cosmetic dentistry and a procedure to pin back her ears.
“I got so much stick for it in the island,” she said, according to The Metro.
“I thought yeah they would mention the fact that I slept with two boys, yeah they would mention I was a stripper and I’d done glamour modelling.”
“But I didn’t think there would be that much stick for getting surgery.”
Megan revealed the extent of the online bullying:
“There would be comments that I was fake and plastic”
“I was getting death threats at one point. I think people just love to hate.”
