Manchester to grant Ariana Grande with honorary citizenship

Manchester is set to grant Ariana Grande with honorary citizenship after organising the One Love concert to raise money for the victims of the Manchester terror attack on May 22.

22 people, including seven children, lost their lives when suicide bomber Salman Abedi detonated a nail bomb as concert-goers left Ariana’s gig at the Manchester Arena.

The US pop star will now be honoured for her efforts in organising the One Love Manchester concert at Old Trafford on June 4 – which included performances from Justin Bieber, Niall Horan, Katy Perry, Take That, Coldplay, Liam Gallagher, and many more.

The concert, which raised millions for the We Love Manchester fund, has been confirmed as the most watched TV event of the year so far.

According to the Manchester Evening News, the show was watched on TV by 11.63 million people (including the live broadcast and repeat viewings), more than any TV programme of the year to date.

One Love Manchester was also streamed live on Ariana’s YouTube channel, which has been viewed 14.5 million times so far.
