Little Britain’s Matt Lucas reveals he received a ‘death threat’ from Michael Jackson fan

Matt Lucas has revealed that he received a ‘death threat’ from a Michael Jackson fan – which he has reported to the police.

The Little Britain star received backlash, after he admitted that he believed the allegations made in the controversial documentary Leaving Neverland, which will air on Channel 4 this month.

He tweeted: “Since I saw LEAVING NEVERLAND & said I believe the testimonies of Robson & Safechuck, a handful of MJ fans have attacked me on social media. I’ve even had a death threat, which is with the police.”

The actor also slammed a Twitter user for allegedly calling him a “paedophile” in a since-deleted tweet.

He wrote: “This charmer is calling me a paedophile. And we wonder why victims don’t speak up.”

‘Leaving Neverland’ details past allegations of child sexual abuse made against the late Michael Jackson – focusing on accusations made by choreographer Wade Robson and computer programmer James Safechuck.

After watching the film, Matt tweeted: “Leaving Neverland is a very tough watch indeed but the brave and vital testimonies of Wade Robson and James Safechuck and their families must be heard. After four heartbreaking hours, you don’t doubt them for a moment. Michael Jackson can rot.”
