Liam Payne has revealed that Louis Tomlinson is “doing really well” in the aftermath of the deaths of his mother and sister.
Louis lost his two close family members in the space of three years, leaving the singer devastated.
“I speak to Louis all the time, Louis is great. He’s doing really well,” Liam told The Mirror Online.Â
Louis lost his mum Johannah Deakin to cancer in 2016, and his 18-year-old sister Félicité passed away after an accidental drug overdose earlier this year.
“We’ve always had a good connection in the way that we were both trying to manage the band together,” Liam said.
“And that’s followed into life, and obviously he has been through a hell of a lot.”
“So I’ve tried to be there for him as much as possible, and so does he me.”
However, Liam revealed that the pair weren’t always so close.
Liam explained that he and Louis hated one another in the early days one One Direction as they both wanted “to be the leader” of the band.
