Former Premiere League footballer, Jermaine Pennant, has revealed that he nearly lost his friendship with Ashley Cole after he made cheating claims about the footballer in his book.
The 35-year-old revealed well-kept secrets between him and Ashley in his new book, Mental: Bad Behaviour, Ugly Truths & The Beautiful Game.
One of the stories the retired footballer wrote about was regarding Ashley cheating on an ex-girlfriend with Cheryl Cole.
The footballer-turned-author claimed that Ashley’s girlfriend at the time was locked outside his house while he was on a date with Cheryl.
The footballer also wrote about having multiple threesomes with Ashley and different women.
“I almost lost friendship because of it. It came out in the press, there’s only a handful of people who knew, they all seemed to put it on me,” he explained on Good Morning Britain earlier today.
“I’m always the easy target, they kind of blamed it on me and I was furious and almost fell out with my friend Jermaine Winter and Ashley Cole over it, and I said, “Look it’s nothing to do with me” and I just thought I wanted to share that experience.”
The ex-footballer is rumoured to be entering the Celebrity Big Brother house, but he is keeping quite tight-lipped about the speculation for now.
“They’re just probably rumours, I don’t know of yet. They may be rumours. I enjoy television, so if that opportunity does arise it’s something I wouldn’t shy away from.”
