ITV has responded to rumours that Ant & Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway has been cancelled.
The last season of the show ended last March, as Ant took a break from work and entered rehab after being charged with driving under the influence.
As the weekend programme didn’t air in 2019, a source told the Daily Star Sunday that the show had been cancelled and claimed: “A number of new shows are being tested for prime time. There are plans to film pilot episodes and see what works.”
A spokesperson from ITV has since shut down the rumours and revealed to the Mail On Sunday that the programme will be returning.
“Ant & Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway will return to ITV in 2020,” they confirmed.
Ant and Dec recently reunited on-screen for the first time in nearly a year, as they returned to their annual hosting roles for Britain’s Got Talent.
