George Michael’s funeral STILL delayed due to toxicology results

George Michael’s funeral has reportedly been delayed, as the coroner has not yet released his body as he waits on the results of a toxicology test.

The Wham! singer was found dead at this home in Oxfordshire, England, on Christmas Day, aged just 53.

However, the singer’s body won’t be released to his family until all tests are complete, and a full inquest is carried out.

According to the Daily Mirror, Darren Salter, the senior coroner for Oxfordshire, has been unable to open an inquest into George’s death as he awaits the toxicology results.

Tragic: Fadi found George dead on Christmas Day | TWITTER

Many believed that George’s death was due to suicide, as after his on-off boyfriend Fadi Fawaz found him dead in bed, he posted messages to Twitter that suggested Michael took his own life.

However, he has since insisted that he was not responsible for the tweets, and blamed hackers.

After his death, Michael’s family asked the public to refrain from speculating about the cause of his death until the coroner’s report is released.

“In the week since his tragic death there has been much comment and speculation concerning George and the circumstances surrounding his death,” their statement read.

“There will inevitably be more in the future. The family remain devastated by his passing and have no wish to comment in relation to any such speculation, whether current or in the future. The results of these (toxicology) tests are unlikely to be known for several weeks… Mr Michael’s death is still being treated as unexplained but not suspicious.”
