“This TOWIE season finale is the “end of an era” according to Gemma Collins.

The cast and crew wrapped up filming today and GC shared a sentimental Instagram post to mark the occasion.

She captioned the post, “End of an ERA 💗 we’re saying goodbye to a lot of people today who have been on this journey with us ….. #towie #wewillremember @garylukemc @hetalpetal55 and lots of others 💗 season finale day 💗”

The ITV2 show first aired in October 2010. Last year Megan McKenna stepped back from the hit program to focus on her country music career.

At the beginning of this year, The Sun reported that Chris Clark, Amber Dowding and Mike Hassini, Maddie Hooper and Ruby Lacey would be leaving the show after TOWIE confirmed some fan favourites would be leaving.

Following the finale of this season it looks like longtime executive producer Luke MacFarlane and producer Hetal Dhanak are set to move on to other projects but it’s unclear at present if more cast members will also be leaving.

Fans on Instagram have speculated that Gemma is leaving to begin her own show with partner Arg but this is currently unconfirmed.
