Gemma Collins has revealed the real reason she joined Dancing on Ice.
While the reality star was voted out of the competition last night, Gemma lost two-and-a-half stone during her time on the show.
The 38-year-old appeared on Loose Women earlier today and revealed that she joined the competition after doctors told her she needed to lose weight in order to fall pregnant.
“I was told I needed to lose weight [to have children] so that’s why I decided to do the show to better myself in the long term,” Gemma said.
“I’ve definitely struggled with it because a lot of my friends from TOWIE have gone on to have a baby and people would say to me, ‘When are you going to have one?”
“I was told I would struggle to conceive but then I got two other opinions and it turns out everything is going to be okay, I just needed to lose weight,” she continued.
The reality star added that her boyfriend, James Argent, is eager to start a family, but that he wants to get married before they have their first child.
“When I have my child I want to give it my all and at the minute I’ve been very busy with my career and when I have that baby I want to love it so much I’ll never let it go, I want to give it my all and at the minute I don’t know where I’m going to be from day to day,” Gemma added.
The reality star’s comments come after she opened up about Dancing on Ice judge, Jason Gardiner’s remarks during their on-air argument in which he said that her skating partner wouldn’t be able to lift her during their performances.
