Former Geordie Shore star arrested in connection with supply of Class A drugs

He was questioned by police

Marty McKenna has been questioned on suspicion of conspiracy to supply Class A drugs.

The former Geordie Shore star was questioned by police, as part of a crackdown that saw four bars in Newcastle shut by police.

ChronicleLive has reported that Marty was held at Forth Banks Police Station in Newcastle on Wednesday, and released under police investigation.

On Monday night, officers shut down House of Smith, Madame Koo, Floritas, and Empress on Side due to suspicions that drugs were being dealt inside or near the venues.

Since then, 19 people, including Marty, have been questioned as part of a police operation targeting drug dealing in and around city centre bars in Newcastle.

The police used the Anti-Social Behaviour, Crime and Police Act 2014 act to issue a closure notice, forcing the venues to shut for at least 48 hours before a hearing.

A court case was held at South Tyneside Magistrates’ Court, and it was decided that The Empress will remain closed for another 14 days.

House of Smith, Madame Koo and Floritas were also due to have their cases heard, but they have been adjourned until December 28.

Marty joined Geordie Shore in 2015, but left the show earlier this year.
