Ewan McGregor refuses to appear on Good Morning Britain after Piers Morgan’s comments

The host angered many online after his comments on the Women's March

Ewan McGregor has refused to appear on Good Morning Britain after Piers Morgan’s comments on the Women’s March.

The peaceful protest took place over the weekend with people all over the world marching for women’s rights.

However, Piers ruffled feathers when he tweeted out a series of tweets against the protest and said that he was “planning a Men’s March to protest at the creeping global emasculation of my gender by rabid feminists.”

Ewan was set to appear on Good Morning Britain but when he found out Piers was hosting, he tweeted that he would not be going on the show.

“Was going on Good Morning Britain, didn’t realise Piers Morgan was host,” he wrote.

“Won’t go on with him after his comments about Women’s March.”

Piers, who is quite active on Twitter, saw this tweet and responded to Ewan’s statement.

“Sorry to hear that Ewan – you should be big enough to allow people different political opinions. You’re just an actor after all,” he hit back.

On his Twitter, Piers continues to retweet those defending him and responding to various users who are defending Ewan’s decision not to appear on the show.

Piers also spoke on Good Morning Britain about the online spat.

“Ewan McGregor was meant to be the main guest on today’s show, but he has decided not to turn up,” he said.

“He apparently doesn’t want to talk to me because of what I said about the Women’s Marches this week.”

Not so good morning: Piers’ co-host Susanna doesn’t agree with his comments | ITV

His co-host Susanna Reid reminded him about his comments and admitted, “There were actually a lot of people who didn’t like your comments, including the woman sat next to you.”

Piers turned around and said, “Well come on here and debate with me about it.

“We just had a very good debate with a guest about the marches, don’t just not show up.”
