Megan Barton Hanson broke down in tears late last night on her Instagram Story, as she admitted to feeling ‘sad and alone’ following her split from Wes Nelson.

The couple announced their shock split last month after seven months together, and blonde beauty Megan has been struggling to cope with their break up.

Taking to her Instagram Story, the Love Island star got real with her 1.8 million followers, after returning to an empty apartment.

Holding back tears, Megan said, “So, I’ve never done this before, like posted anything when I’m feeling really really c**p, but I always preach about mental health, not just showing your highlights on Instagram.”

“It’s been a really tough few weeks, and I’ve been filming for like two days solid, so my mind’s been constantly busy. And, now I’ve come back to this new flat I’ve moved into alone, and it’s just sad to come back to complete silence, and I dunno.”

An emotional Megan continued, “I longed for a boyfriend or a partner for years before I went on Love Island, and then I finally found that – I thought I’d found ‘the one’ so it’s just difficult.”

“And I know everyone’s like ‘you need to be happy in yourself and love yourself’, and I do, and that’s what’s sad. I feel like I’m at such a place in my life that I’m so content and happy that I just wanna be able to share these memories and create a little life and an empire with someone else.”

Megan concluded, “I thought I’d just share because everyone always puts on the best nights going out, or when they’re in Harrods buying a new pair of shoes, or their holiday at a beach club, but this is real life.”

“And, I’m so blessed. I’ve had such an amazing time since I’ve left the villa, but there’s always gonna be times where you’re just feel like a bit alone and sad. And, I just wanted to share with you… It’s not all happiness and one hundred per cent positivity all of the time.”

After posting the videos on her Story, Megan wrote, “Love me or hate me I wanted to share that and show you despite peoples circumstances life is up and down for us all.

“It’s okay to feel down sometimes, time a second brush yourself off, breathe and focus on the future.”

Megan and Wes split last month, after the model beauty accused Wes’ Dancing On Ice partner Vanessa Bauer of tactically breaking up with her boyfriend.
