Ed Sheeran has denied that he’s engaged to girlfriend Cherry Seaborn, after Russell Crowe referred to her as Ed’s fiancée in a recent interview.
The actor was speaking about his friendship with the Shape of You singer on Australian radio show Fitzy and Wippa earlier this month when he called Cherry Ed’s fiancée – which sparked speculation that the musician is set to walk up the aisle.
However, Ed has now set the record straight during an interview in Brazil, and insisted that Russell was simply confused about his relationship status with Cherry.
“He (Russell) emailed me about it to say sorry,” he explained in a clip which aired on Fitzy And Wippa on Tuesday.

“He’s only met Cherry once and I didn’t introduce her, I didn’t say anything… I think he just assumed, but no – we’re not engaged,” he said.
Ed started dating Cherry, who he first met in school, back in 2015.
Ed is currently in South America on his world tour, and is set to play the Esplanada Do Mineirao in Belo Horizonte, Brazil tonight.
