The Duke of Edinburgh will attend the wedding of his grandson Prince Harry.

Buckingham Palace have confirmed that the 96-year-old will be going to the wedding on Saturday.

His appearance at tomorrow’s wedding will delight royal fans, as he is a favourite of many.

The Duke has been recovering in Windsor Castle since having an operation on his hip in April.

The Duke was taken to the private King Edward VII hospital in London on April 3, for surgery to replace his joint with a prosthetic implant.

The Duke is also set to have afternoon tea with Doria Ragland (Meghan’s mother) and the Queen today.

The former yoga instructor has already met with other members of the royal family, but was yet to meet the Queen and Duke.

He was spotted arriving into Windsor Castle last week, his first public appearance since his operation.

The Duke retired from public life last August due to his age and health. It’s understood that Prince Harry was very keen to have his grandfather attend his wedding, and that even the date may have been picked to suit his grandfather.
