Davina McCall broke her silence over her split from Matthew Roberts during an emotional interview on This Morning.
Late last year, Davina announced her split from Pet Rescue presenter Matthew Roberts after 17 years of marriage.
In an interview with Philip Schofield and Holly Willoughby, Davina addressed her break up, and also clarified that a teary video she posted on Instagram over Christmas was not a “cry for help”.
“I thought I’d do a quick message. People took that as a cry for help as I was on my own,” she said. “Actually Matthew and I decided for the kids’ sake we’d be all together for Christmas, so I wasn’t on my own.”
The presenter spent Christmas with her estranged husband and and their three children, Holly, 16, Tilly, 14, and Chester, 11.
Davina then went on to say, “Just for the record, I know you Philip, you might want to ask me about it [her split from Matthew].
“For our kids’ sake, Matthew and I have both decided we are never going to talk about us. We have three kids who are quite grown up so we don’t want to talk but it’s in the public eye.”
In the interview, Davina also denied claims that she had a fling with Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson.
“The Rock – it’s not true. I do love him and tweet him but I’m not secretly messaging him at all. My son is very excited that The Rock might know who I am,” she said.
Davina announced her split from Matthew in a statement that read, “I am very sad to say that Matthew and I have separated. Our amazing children are our number one priority, above everything else so therefore we ask for as much space and respect from the media as possible while our family goes through this difficult time.”
The couple married at Eastnor Castle, Herefordshire, back in 2000.
