Danny John-Jules apologises for tweets claiming Strictly Come Dancing judges are racist

Danny John-Jules has apologised for his tweets that claimed the Strictly Come Dancing judges are racist.

Tweets from the actor in 2016 recently resurfaced as he claimed that the dancing competition was racist.

Danny claimed that the judges “always get rid of the black guy first.”

The 57-year-old is taking part in these year’s series and apologised for his tweets, before the show begins tonight.

The actor recently told The Star: “The first person I went to in make-up was Bruno. And I said to him: ‘I’m here to apologise’.”

“And he said: ‘Darling, we’ve known each other far too long’. That was his response,” Danny continued.

“I’ve known him since the 70s. But as I said if anyone was offended I was there to apologise,” he finished.

Strictly Come Dancing will hit screens tonight, Saturday 8th September, at 7:35PM.
