Coleen Rooney is glad that her husband Wayne Rooney was slapped with a community service sentence for drink-driving, as she hopes it will finally force him to “grow up”.

The 31-year-old is said to be sick of her footballer hubby’s immature antics, after he was caught behind the wheel of party girl Laura Simpson’s car after a night out.

A source told The Sun, “Coleen has said the best thing that could have happened to Wayne is getting this 100-hour community service.

“She thinks this may be the shock he needs to grow up. She has always said he is like her fourth child.”

“He’s one big kid. He does nothing around the house, is always fooling around — and just plays computer games. It’s time for Wayne to man up. The latest events are the last straw. Coleen thinks this might be the making of him.”

The mother-of-three, who is expecting their fourth child, was on holiday in Majorca with the kids when Wayne was arrested for drink-driving.

At Stockport magistrates court, the Everton striker was handed a community service sentence, a two-year driving ban, and was fined £170.

After his hearing, Wayne tweeted, “I want publicly to apologise for my unforgivable lack of judgment driving over the limit.”

Meanwhile, Everton fined the striker two weeks’ wages, which amounts to around €360,000, which will go to community projects.
