Cheryl ‘is returning to The X Factor’ – despite previously cutting ties with the show

Cheryl is reportedly returning to The X Factor, despite vowing to never appear on the show ever again.

Earlier this week, it was reported that the new mother had cut ties with the ITV series, after liquidating the company which she received her X Factor salary through.

However, the Mail on Sunday has reported that the 34-year-old has agreed to make a guest appearance during the judges houses stage alongside her former boss Simon Cowell.

The former judge, who left the show in 2015, will jet to the South of France to help Simon pick three acts to bring to the live shows.

A source said, “Simon is ecstatic at getting Cheryl back working with him again. They’ve had their ups and downs to say the least but he hugely respects her opinion.

“He has been working on it for a while. He and Cheryl have been talking a lot over the last months… For Cheryl, this felt like the right way for her to make a return to the limelight after having Bear.

“She has the tough task of picking Simon’s final acts so the pressure is on and he is very much looking forward to the banter.”

The singer will appear in two episodes of The X Factor in October, which will air just a week before the live shows start.

Former Girls Aloud star Cheryl first became a judge on The X Factor back in 2008, but quit in 2011 to join the panel of the The X Factor USA.

However, the singer was brutally axed rom the US series, which led to a huge feud between her and Simon Cowell.

But, the pair eventually made up – and she returned to the UK series in 2014 for two more seasons.

The news comes after Cheryl stunned at one of her first public appearances since welcoming her first child Bear back in March.
