Charlotte Crosby has spoken out about her own weight loss amid the ongoing scandal surrounding fitness DVDs.

Back in 2015, the former Geordie Shore star dropped four dress sizes and two and a half stone in conjunction with releasing her very own exercise DVD.

Similar to reality stars Vicky Pattison, Scarlett Moffatt and Lauren Goodger – they all claimed that the DVD helped them shed the pounds, however, it’s since been claimed that some stars actually used diet pills and attended intense bootcamps in order to lose the weight.

Speaking to the MailOnline about the controversy, Charlotte said, “I can only go off my experience was really pleasant. I was never pushed to over-eating or over-exercising.”

“I did it all by the book most of the time. I was in Geordie Shore, eating kebabs so it took a lot longer for me to lose the weight. I really enjoyed my experience…

“I can’t go by what’s in the papers but mine was the complete opposite to what is being claimed. I don’t think people will question it as I’ve said it wasn’t the case so people will read that and know it wasn’t…

“I never went too far. I always felt so great. It was going to McDonald’s so that was my downfall. It’s just amazing isn’t it? I’ve been so busy filming I haven’t had time to be caught up in this drama.”

The 27-year-old is gearing up for the premiere of her very own MTV series The Charlotte Show.

In the series trailer, Charlotte can be seen bursting into tears after finding out that her ex-boyfriend and former co-star Gaz Beadle had welcomed his first child with girlfriend Emma McVey.

“Obviously something like that was gonna be a shock – well not a shock, I always knew he was going to have a baby – but a bit weird but now I’m completely fine. I feel he did need the baby. I’m not in any contact with him,” Charlotte said.

“That was very coincidental, first day filming, obviously, it wasn’t easy on the day, I knew it was going to come and getting it through it when it happened was what I had to do.”

Speaking about the show as a whole, Charlotte said, “The show is literally just my real life so its home with my family friends, work, crazy nights out just my whole life. so imagine just seeing my whole life…”

“It’s just so real, just so real, Geordie Shore we all go out every night, we all work for Anna, but that’s not our real lives. BB you’re put in a house, it’s a social experiment.

“But this is my real life, my real friends, my real family. My real jobs so it’s the reallest thing I’ve ever been on. I feel like fans have probably seen it all before so there’s nothing I can do to shock fans.

“They’re gonna love it as they’re gonna see more of my life and more than ever before. I wanted to show a different side to myself.”

The Charlotte Show airs for the first time tonight on MTV at 8pm.
