Charlotte Crosby took to social media in tears after she was inundated with abusive messages following claims from Dr Alex’s family that she was a bully.
The Geordie lass tweeted, “Dr Alex….WOW. I have no words for your horrendous sun burnt skin.”
“AND BAD ATTITUDE, your b****y lucky to have one girl even take an interest in your wooden plank personality.”
“The way you even thought you could mess poor Alexandra around makes me feel sick # VilePinkface.”
Following her tweet, the contestant’s family accused her of bullying the Love Island star which left Charlotte on the receiving end of online abuse.
The sheer volume of hateful messages brought the reality TV star to tears so she posted a string of tweets to clear up the situation.
She clarified, “One thing I am not is a bully,” before closing with a dig saying, “give it a year or so no1 will have much to say about Alex.”
Just wanted to clear up the Alex tweet. For all of you who know me know I’m many things: loud, outspoken and occasionally a bit crazy. One thing I am not is a bully. Being famous doesn’t mean I am above having an opinion and expressing that opinion. Neither does it mean that….

I don’t sometimes go in too hard especially when I see a girl getting treated shitty by a boy on a reality TV show, that’s something obviously close to my heart. I’m sorry if I offended anyone with my animated observation of Alex’s sunburn – it was not my intention….

and I don’t want this to blow up into something it’s not. After all this is love island and we’re all on an emotional rollercoaster with it….

It’s a shame Alex’s family the anti bullying patrons then encouraged TREBLE the amount of ACTUAL bullying back. But they are new to this all so it’s understandable they incredibly over sensitive. But don’t worry give it a year or so no1 will have much to say about alex….

Hundreds of Charlotte’s fans jumped to her defence and she retweeted dozes of those who supported her in the spat.
Some fans thought her words were blown out of proportion tweeting, “using the word bully for her tweet is excessive.”
Dr Alex’s family then came underfire as a fan tweeted, “They have caused thousands of people to bully her for a bit of attention.”
Love Island continues at 9pm on 3e this Sunday.
Okay so this @Charlottegshore drama with Alex from #LoveIsland. Yes she probably shouldn’t have used the word vile. However, she’s commented on someone’s sunburn. Get over it. As someone who has been badly bullied in my lifetime, using the word bully for her tweet is excessive…
