Caroline Flack’s ex-fiancé Andrew Brady has broken his silence on her arrest.

The Love Island host was arrested and charged with assault by beating on Friday morning – after cops were called to her house in Islington, North London.

It’s believed Caroline’s tennis player boyfriend Lewis Burton was the one who called 999.

After the news hit headlines, the 40-year-old’s ex tweeted: “Sad that I’m not more surprised by the news.”

Caroline and Andrew got engaged following a whirlwind romance last year, but their relationship was notoriously on-and-off until they eventually split for good in November 2018.

Following their split, Andrew jetted to Australia to start a new life, and only a few weeks ago he branded his relationship with Caroline as “toxic”.

Taking to Instagram, the former Apprentice star wrote: “It’s exactly a year tomorrow since I left a very toxic relationship and got away. Leaving probably saved my life…”

The news comes after Caroline’s friend Dawn O’Porter spoke out to defend the Love Island host.

She tweeted: “Woken up to some really hard news about my friend Caroline Flack. Who I love very very much. I will wait until I know the facts before I make a judgement, and I urge you to do the same.”

“This cancel culture doesn’t help anyone. You weren’t there. You don’t know. That’s it.”

Caroline is set to appear at Highbury Corner Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 23 December.
