Buckingham Palace responds to reports that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle may move to Africa

Buckingham Palace has responded to reports that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle may move to Africa.

The Sunday Times reported that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are in discussions to make the move, after plans of moving to Australia or Canada were “rejected”.

A source told the publication: “There have been various ideas floated for them to take on a job abroad, such as governor-general of Australia or Canada, wherever.”

The couple are expected to carry out charity work and promote Britain if they are to make the move.

Following the reports, Buckingham Palace released a statement and did not deny the allegations.

Royal correspondent for the Daily Express, Richard Palmer tweeted: “Buckingham Palace: “Any future plans for The Duke and Duchess are speculative at this stage.”

“No decisions have been taken about future roles. “The Duke will continue to fulfil his role as Commonwealth Youth Ambassador.””
