Big Brother star Rebekah Shelton forced to confirm that she’s NOT dead after hoax

The reality star's Twitter account was hacked

A former Big Brother star Rebekah Shelton has been forced to confirm that she is not dead, after being subject to a death hoax.

Last night, a tweet posted from Rebekah’s account claimed that she had passed away.

“We’re sorry to inform everyone of the sad news that our wonderful and lovely Rebekah died unexpectedly on Wednesday night,” the tweet read. “We ask that you respect the family’s privacy at this time.”

However, after several hours, Rebekah posted a video on Twitter to clarify that she’s still alive, and that a malicious person had gained access to her account.

“Hi everyone, I just want to kindly ask: please stop spreading the news that I’m dead, because obviously I’m not,” she said.

“I’ve been to hell today, because someone used my Twitter account to write that stupid status about me.

“This person can’t accept the fact that I’m happy, that I’ve overcome all my problems, and that I’m finally living my life happy. I’m on holiday. I’m in Arabia. And I am not dead.”

Rebekah was formerly known as Rodrigo Lopes, and appeared on Big Brother back in 2009. The transgender star made the decision to live as a woman in 2012.
