Ben Foden’s new father-in-law has spoken out, after his daughter Jackie Belanoff Smith married the rugby player over the weekend.
Ben, who split from his former wife Una Healy last year, revealed his marriage to Jackie on Instagram earlier this week – and said that they tied the knot after just two weeks of dating.
However, Jackie’s father Peter has told the MailOnline: “I believe it was a bit more than a fortnight…”
He continued: “Jackie is very successful in her own right and she met him at the beginning of the summer.”
“The wedding wasn’t a surprise. He called me to ask for my blessing and I gave it. I said, ‘I want her to have a long and successful marriage.’”
The news comes after Jackie revealed what she will do if Ben cheats on her, after Instagram users pointed out his bad reputation.
The sports star split from Irish singer Una Healy in 2018 after six years of marriage, amid claims that he had been unfaithful.
