Ariana Grande ‘overwhelmed’ to return to perform in Manchester

Ariana Grande revealed that she was ‘overwhelmed’ at returning to perform in Manchester.

The singer was performing at Manchester Pride weekend on Sunday, over two years on from the 22nd of May 2017 when a suicide bomber detonated a deadly device at one of Ariana’s concerts in the UK city.

The blast killed 22 victims and injured hundreds more.

“Manchester holds a very special place in my heart,” the superstar told the crowd who has gathered for her performance.

“I’m so happy to be with you, so thank you for having me.”

“Sorry, I’m so nervous. I had so much more to say but I’m really very overwhelmed. So thank you.”

The star has been open about her distress and trauma following the bombing, and has worked to support the Manchester community since the attack.

She organised the One Love concert in the months following the attack, to raise money for the families of the deceased and for those injured.

Tweeting ahead of the concert, the singer shared a message of love for her Pride fans.
