Ant McPartlin delivers emotional statement outside court after being charged for drink driving

Ant McPartlin arrived at his court case this week in connection with drink driving charges.

The co presenter of Saturday Night Takeaway was handed an £86,000 fine, and a 20 month driving ban at Wimbledon Magistrates Court.

The presenter admitted to being under the influence of alcohol on the day he was arrested, and it was revealed he was two times over the legal limit.

Ant’s barrister told the judge the incident was down to “a brief relapse”, unbeknownst to the presenter’s mother.

Speaking outside court, Ant made the following statement:

The presenter looked drained as he made his way out of the court to make his public statement.

It is believed that Ant will continue to seek treatment for his alcohol and emotional issues.

Ant was arrested at the scene in south west London, after he took his dog for a walk in Richmond Park.

Presenting partner Dec Donnelly hosted the final two episodes of Saturday Night Takeaway alone and will also host Britain’s Got Talent on his own.
