Adele confirmed her split from husband Simon Konecki late last night, after less than two years of marriage.
In a statement, her representative said: “Adele and her partner have separated. They are committed to raising their son together lovingly. As always they ask for privacy.”
The Sun have since reported that their marriage was on the rocks for a long time.
A source said: “This is a very sad situation – Adele and Simon had been living separate lives for some time.”
“It was well known amongst their friends that this time they simply were not going to sort it out. They had been trying for years but eventually you have to accept that something just isn’t going to work.”
Adele and Simon started dating after they were reportedly introduced by mutual friend Ed Sheeran back in 2011.
The couple went on to welcome son Angelo together, and eventually tied the knot at their £10 million mansion in LA in 2017.
The news of their split comes after Adele was recently spotted on a wild night out with her actress pal Jennifer Lawrence.
