5 royal rules Meghan Markle has already broken

Meghan Markle has been causing all sorts of a kerfuffle in the royal realm since her relationship with Prince Harry went public last September.

The soon to be married couple have been attending a packed schedule of public appearances and Meghan’s royal rule breaking keeps causing a stir.

Here’s a run down of some of the most recent rules she has paid no heed to.

1. No Jeans

Jeans are too casual to wear to royal engagements according to Kensington Palace.

While the Duchess of Cambridge always abides by this rule, Meghan continues to break it. Jeans are to royals what active wear are to us common folk.

We regularly think even jeans are too formal for events so we’re with her on this one.

2. No Buns

Kate Middleton and co have been up keeping a Royal hair rule which only permits sleek hair styles.

But former Suits actress Meghan has ignored this rule at a recent royal engagement.

She sported a messy bun when visiting a radio station.

3. No Holding Hands

This one is more frowned upon than officially rebellious against royal protocol.

No rules govern PDA but as the couple are meant to be working on behalf of the British monarchy at events it is expected that they remain professional.

William and Kate abide by this rule, but were spotted looking more loved-up than usual during this year’s Christmas lunch, where the pair were arm in arm.

4. No Bare Legs

Concerned with all things modest it’s no surprise bare legs break another royal rule.

36-year-old Meghan did not wear the traditional nude stockings the royal rules dictate she should have for her engagement announcement.

Instead she opted for a bare leg (oh my).

5. No Autographs

Last but not least, autograph signing is a habit the former Suits actress is used to from successful acting career.

However she will have to phase it out now to adhere to Royal security rules. Royals are not allowed to sign autographs in case their signatures are forged and Meghan broke this rule in Cardiff Castle.

She signed the autograph book 10-year-old Caitlin Clarke presented to her while she was on a walkabout with Prince Harry.
