Vogue Williams opens up about ‘eye-opening’ documentary series

Vogue Williams has revealed that she wants to educate people about the LGBT community – especially transgender people.

The model’s show On The Edge will cover a range of different issues that have had an affect on her generation.

“Every topic is quite important that I chose, particularly transgender,” she said.

The DJ admitted that people don’t know enough about transgender issues, even herself.

“I do a lot for the LGBT community and I didn’t realise how little I knew about the T part,” she told RTE Entertainment.

“I think people aren’t educated enough on transgender issues and I learned so much from it.

“I had an amazing experience and I met some amazing people and it was really eye-opening and I think, if anything, it’s going to help people understand the transgender community a little bit more.”

In her show, the presenter will also be addressing the issues around online bullying and addiction, which she also revealed was the most shocking episode.

“I think, with the addiction episode, that was the biggest surprise because obviously we were focusing on the hard drugs you hear about; cocaine, heroin, ecstasy, and in actual fact, one of the most dangerous ones is the synthetic drugs you can buy on the internet,” the 30-year-old explained.

“I could get them tomorrow if I wanted, and they’re so available to young people and they’re used a lot on the streets as well and they’re just frightening, it’s frightening what they do to people.”

Vogue is tipped to be the favourite female host for RTE’s new show, Dancing With The Stars.
