Viewers were NOT happy with the new season premiere of Love Island

Fans of the show were left disappointed

Viewers were left reeling after last night’s season premiere of Love Island – as show producers left fans on the edge of their seats with an epic cliffhanger.

The show kicked off with a bang this year, as Love Island bosses added a huge twist by throwing 22-year-old hunk Adam Collard into the villa – just moments after contestants had already coupled up.

At the start of the show, Samira, Laura, Kendall, Dani and Hayley were lined up for the first coupling, and were told to step forward if any of the boys tickled their fancy.

The first boy to enter the villa was 23-year-old student Niall Aslam, who coupled up with 26-year-old Kendall Rae-Knight.

Next to enter was Dr. Alex – who failed to make an impression with any of the girls, and was left to sit on the bench.

Then, electrical and nuclear systems design engineer Wes Nelson, 20, arrived into the villa – and immediately caught air hostess Laura’s eye.

Next up was male model Eyal Booker, 22, who coupled up with blonde beauty Hayley Hughes, 21.

The fifth and final boy to enter the villa was Jack Fincham, 26, who chose to couple up with EastEnders actor Danny Dyer’s daughter Dani, 21.

After all the boys paired up, Alex was allowed off the Subs Bench and coupled up with Samira.

The show’s host Caroline then said, “We have our five couples. The choices you’ve just made could decide how long you stay in the villa. In your couples, you’ll spend time getting to know one another, taking on challenges together, living together and even sharing a bed together. Sound good, is it too soon to spoon?”

However, Caroline then threw a spanner in the works by announcing Adam’s arrival, saying, “It almost seems a shame to complicate things, but this is Love Island…”

She explained, “In 24 hours, he [Adam] will be coupling up with one of your girls, leaving one of leaving one of you single and vulnerable. Because you know the rules. To stay on Love Island you have to be in a couple.”

“I’m going to leave you lot to get to know each other. Don’t forget in eight weeks time the public will be voting for their favourite couple. That couple could stand to win a massive £50,000 and be crowned the winners of Love Island 2018.”

In the episode, Adam took the opportunity to get to know all of the girls – and seemed to find himself drawn to Dani, Laura and Kendall.

However, when it finally came to Adam making his decision at the end of the episode, the show ended – leaving viewers on the edge of their seats.

Naturally, fans of the show weren’t too happy about the cliffhanger, and took to Twitter to vent their frustration:

Adam’s decision will FINALLY be revealed when Love Island continues tonight, Tuesday 5 June, at 9pm on 3e.
