TV bosses respond to reports that Home and Away is being AXED

The Australian soap has been on our screens for 31 years

TV bosses have responded to reports that Home and Away is being axed.

Earlier this month, rumours were rife that the show was set to be cancelled, due to the soap’s “plummeting” ratings.

However, Seven Network boss Angus Ross has since branded the speculation as “utter drivel”.

Channel 7

He told Metro.co.uk: “The hard working cast and crew on Home and Away produce the most-loved and most-watched Australian drama on television.”

“I can assure fans that the story is utter drivel. There are absolutely no plans to move it from its 7PM timeslot on the main channel.”

Angus’ comments will come as a relief, as Home and Away is still extremely popular in Australia, the UK, and Ireland.
