THIS is how much Love Island contestants will be paid this summer

The show will return to ITV2 next month

Love Island contestants will reportedly be paid just £250 a week this summer.

Every year, most Islanders quit their jobs or request extended leave in order to appear on the show, but now ITV have plans to “compensate” contestants.

According to the Daily Star, bosses have agreed to pay contestants £250 a week, however, some don’t believe it’s enough.

A source said: “Everyone now knows that stepping into that villa brings good and bad things.”

“They risk coming out and being trolled on Twitter, their dreams of being a big reality star dashed, work dries up and ending up feeling depressed and having issues.”

Of course, the couple that end up winning the show will be rewarded with a £50,000 cash prize, however, other finalists will only bag about £2,000.

The news comes following reports that DWTS pro-dancer Curtis Pritchard is set to appear on the show this year.
