He’s best known for being Saoirse Ronan’s dad but Paul Ronan is set to appear in his breakout role, in a new gang land drama.
The actor, who starred in The Clinic, has been cast in Bandit, an upcoming Irish TV series that’s set to rival Love/Hate.
The show, which is filming their pilot this August, is set in Co Monaghan and follows two brothers in a gangland family.

Paul plays the lead in the show, and comes after the actor played a dodgy drugs corrier in Love/Hate.
“Bandit is in the same vein as Love/Hate. It’s a drama about gangs in the border counties, it will be violent and rough just like Love/Hate.
“There is a great cast and a great script, and Paul is just fantastic,” an insider revealed.

The series is being produced by Timeline Productions. Owner Alan Farrell said: “The show is about a few families and the pressure they are under. It’s about brotherhood. Paul plays one of the two brothers.”
“Everybody see’s Paul as Saoirse’s dad, but he’s a veteran actor. We cast him straight away.”
