Despite rumours that Marty Morrissey was set to take over on Winning Streak, RTE star Marty Whelan has been confirmed as this years host.
It had been reported that GAA commentator Marty Morrissey was set to take over the coveted slot alongside Sinead Kennedy.
However, RTE bosses appear to have been happy to stick with the tried and tested – as they rolled out Marty Whelan at the launch of the new series.

He was joined by ex-Late Late Show host Gay Byrne, who celebrated the new run of Winning Streak.
According to RTE insiders Marty Whelan has already been in the studio for “dry runs” of the show, before filming begins next month.

“He’s delighted to be back – it was never really in doubt,” a source told the Herald.
Meanwhile, Marty has joined a long line of celebs in taking part in the ice bucket challenge.
The RTE host was nominated by Daithi O’Se live at the Rose of Tralee and decided to nominate Sinead Kennendy, Kathryn Thomas and Geri Maye himself.
