Roz Purcell: I don't mind my food being attacked on The Restaurant – I'm used to criticism as a model

Roz Purcell didn’t mind people picking at her dishes on The Restaurant – as it’s nothing compared to what you get as a model.

The ex-Miss Universe Ireland is used to every part of her body being examined by photographers and clients, meaning she was ready for criticism on the TV3 show.

She said: “You hear people picking at every little thing they can find but in my job as a model you have people constantly giving you back-handed compliments so it’s not something I ever paid attention to.

“It all goes over my head. It was funny, though. You know what to expect and as the saying goes, if you can’t stand the heat, get out of the kitchen.”

The 24-year-old takes on The Restaurant this week, but decided she wanted to show off her healthy lifestyle within the dishes – rather than a highly fat-laden menu.

“I wanted to offer a healthy option to people who want to go out for a light bite to eat and not feel guilty after it, even when it comes to dessert,” she told the Star.

“Then there’s the gluttonous option, for those times you’re out having dinner and you just say to yourself, ‘Ah feck it, I’m just going to have it,’ because I would definitely do that.”

But Roz – who previously won Celebrity Come Dine With Me – admits it was tough working with so many people in the kitchen.

She added: “I don’t like people interfering when I’m in the kitchen. I love cooking alone. I find it really therapeutic.

“I love having friends over and I love cooking dinners for them but I’d have it all done before they arrive.”
