Ronan Keating has claimed the UK X Factor is old and exhausted.
The Irish singer, who is a judge on the Australian version, said talent shows in the UK aren’t as fresh anymore.
“We’ve seen a lot of talent competitions in the UK over the last 15 years with Pop Idol, the X Factor,” he said.
“And you kind of feel like the talent has been exhausted but in Australia it’s still very fresh.”
It comes after it was revealed Ronan was trying to get Louis Walsh’s job on the UK judging panel.
“Ronan Keating launched the most public – the most blatant – campaign to get my job,” Louis previously said.
“What he doesn’t seem to realise is that he was never in the running for it at all. He never will be. He’s just not relevant in today’s music business.”
Meanwhile Ronan has revealed he feels more cultural after dating his Australian girlfriend Storm Uechtritz.
“I guess when you meet someone from another country and you have a close relationship you see life differently through them.

“Which is incredible – the food, the drink, the society, just the way they’ve grown up and stuff and what they are used to, which is so different from the way you’ve been brought up.”
“It’s good to learn that and blend,” he said.
