Robbie Williams and wife Ayda Field quit The X Factor – after one year on the judging panel

The show is in for some big changes

Robbie Williams and his wife Ayda Field have announced their decision to quit The X Factor judging panel, after just one year.

Following reports that the talent show is in for a “celebrity revamp”, Robbie and Ayda have confirmed their departure.

In a social media post, Ayda said: “A quick update from Team Williams… it’s been a very busy year so far and Vegas has been incredible – we cannot wait for June and July to do it all again.”

“We’ve got some very big announcements coming soon – but we can’t reveal all yet. Sadly as it’s impossible to do everything, we’re gutted to tell you we won’t be able to return to The X Factor this year.”

“We will, however, be working on projects with Simon going forward – and as huge fans of the show, we will still be tuning into The X Factor, voting and winding Simon up!” she added.

The couple joined the judging panel last year alongside One Direction star Louis Tomlinson, following the departure of Nicole Scherzinger, Louis Walsh and Sharon Osbourne.

The news comes after Louis Tomlinson cast doubt on whether he would return to the show as a judge.
