Riverdale cast honour the late Luke Perry as filming begins for season 4

The cast of Riverdale have honoured the late actor Luke Perry as they begin filming for the fourth season of the Netflix show.

Luke Perry passed away in March of this year, after suffering a stroke.

He played the role of Fred Andrews on the show. Madchen Amick, who plays Alice Cooper in the series, uploaded a snap of the cast on their first day back filming.

“There was nothing but love, memories and mourning for our beloved Luke as we honor him in our first episode back,” she wrote.

She completed the post with the hashtags “#wemissyouluke #inmemoriam #riverdale #S4 #tableread.

In the snap, lead actors KJ Apa, Lili Reinhart and Cole Sprouse can be seen.

Earlier thjis year, it was revealed that the cast would be dedicating the opening episode of the new season to Luke.

Taking to Twitter, Riverdale creator Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa revealed that the new season’s first episode is titled ‘In Memoriam’.

He told fans: “Probably the most important episode of Riverdale we’ll do this year, if not ever. A tribute to our fallen friend. Thankful for this opportunity to honor Luke and Fred.”
