Only a month to go: Love/Hate's start date has FINALLY been revealed

Love/Hate bosses have announced that the new series will begin on October 12.

The highly-anticipated fifth season of the TV series will be starting at 9.30pm on the Sunday – heading towards Christmas.

It is expected that the six-part drama will then end on November 16, with a delay caused by conflicts between when The Fall was going to air.

Already, Tom Vaughan-Lawlor – who plays Nidge – has told Goss.ie that it will see him fleeing to Spain.

Gangland: RTE set to announce soon when Love/Hate starts

Sources told Goss.ie that it will not be set in a prison, as had been claimed – but will continue to see the Gardai taking on Nidge’s gang.

Yesterday, creator Stuart Carolan promised he will make a sixth season of the show.

He told fans they shouldn’t worry that it is the end – he wants another part to his gangland drama.

“I love writing it, and getting it on to TV. The whole process makes me so happy,” he said.

“So if this season goes out and people like it, and it performs well, we could definitely do it again. That’s if RTE wants it. I don’t want to jinx it.”
