Nicole Scherzinger shocked fans when she agreed to boot Try Star off the X Factor: Celebrity edition, after being romantically linked to one of the band’s singers Thom Evans.
The band, made up of Thom, Ben Foden and Levi Davis, were voted off the show by the judges over the weekend.
A source has claimed that the former Pussycat Doll wants the relationship to be taken seriously, and couldn’t stand having it potentially play out on the show.
A source claimed to The Sun: “Nicole is really into Thom and she didn’t want jokes being made about them.”
“She chose to get rid of his group Try Star because it would stop people scrutinizing what she has with Tom.”
“And she knew they were the weaker act.”
Nicole and Thom were pictured partying together in London following the elimination.
A source said previously: “Thom is completely Nicole’s type. And for his part, Thom was smitten early on — he’s always said Nicole is one of the most beautiful women in the world.”
The Celebrity X Factor finale show is this week, Saturday November 30th.
