Maura Higgins says Tommy Fury and Molly-Mae Hague ‘should have won’ Love Island

Her reaction to the result caused a lot of controversy

Maura Higgins thinks runners-up Tommy Fury and Molly-Mae Hague should have won Love Island.

On Monday night, the loved-up couple were beaten by Amber Gill and Greg O’Shea – and Maura’s reaction raised a lot eyebrows.

When their names were called out, the camera panned to Maura, who looked less than impressed by the result.

Speaking about her reaction for the first time since leaving the villa, the Irish beauty said: “You know what, I’m not going to lie, I was shocked.”

“Obviously I love Greg and Amber to bits but it’s Love Island. Molly and Tommy have found love. It’s genuine love.”

“I was without a doubt shocked. I thought they had it in the bag,” she said.

The Longford native also slammed claims that Molly-Mae “faked” her love for Tommy during their time in the villa.

She said: “Molly-Mae is the most genuine girl I’ve ever met in my life. She’s amazing. She is without a doubt besotted by Tommy. And vice versa. They are the perfect couple.”
