Matt Le Blanc announces departure from Top Gear

The Friends star couldn't keep up with the show's demands

Matt LeBlanc has announced his departure from Top Gear.

The Friends star, who joined the hit BBC show in 2016, will leave after the next series.

The actor couldn’t keep up with the demands of the job, and didn’t like how much time he was spending away from his family.

In a statement, Matt said, “The time commitment and extensive travel required to present Top Gear takes me away from my family and friends more than I’m comfortable with.”

“It’s unfortunate, but for these reasons I will not be continuing my involvement with the show.

“I will forever be a Top Gear fan and I wish the team continued success. Thanks for a great drive,” the 50-year-old explained.

Matt’s fourth and final series of Top Gear will air later this year.
